Mylan has announced the launch of a drug used to treat breast cancer under a previously announced settlement and license agreement with Novartis. Mylan will have a period of marketing exclusivity because it was the first to file a substantially complete abbreviated new drug application for the product. Letrozole tablets are the generic version of Novartis’ Femara, a supplemental treatment for postmenopausal women who have undergone surgery for hormone receptor-positive, early-stage breast cancer.
